In 2011 , Ms. Dewasne , widow of Jean Dewasne (Lille, 1921 - Paris , 1999) , proposed to give the state the majority of works which she was heiress. The Direction of "Musées de France" made the wise choice to spread over a dozen museums this exceptional respect a great French artist of the twentieth century , a major representative of geometric abstraction.
The ten works attributed to the Fine Arts Museum of Caen are particularly representative of the most fertile period of the artist: the sixties, seventies. These large paintings will be exhibited by bearings in the Atrium , bright and monumental particularly favorable to the development of the creations of Jean Dewasne space. A first choice is presented in this space in the fall 2013.
